Grief / Poem

Shadows of candle

fill the room,

waiting on a call that never comes,

but still I wait

An abiding conversation,

between me and the moon,

hoping somewhere along the way

you're listening

No amount of sunsets

or sunrises will bring you back,

nothing will fill the 'you'

shaped hole left behind

So I sit by the window,

below the stars,

and my heart bleeds scarlet red,

the bed in which you once slept,

I doze for hours and days,

in hopes it brings me closer to you
